ITV National Weather Intro, 1996-99 - Aurora (Sun)

These curious little characters called the Weathergens were used by British energy company Powergen as their introduction sequences to their sponsorship of the ITV national weather forecasts from 1996 until 2001. You may notice that the title was 1996-1999, however. This is because ITV changed their logo in 1999, and so all of the title sequences had to be slightly modified to accommodate for the new logo. This includes the 1996 Weathergens. Powergen was a British energy company originally formed as the national energy company in 1989 and privatised from 1991-95. The company sponsored the ITV National Weather from 1991 until 2007, when it became E-ON's UK division and became E-ON UK. E-ON took over Powergen's sponsorship of the ITV National Weather forecasts until 2010. This Weathergen is the happy Aurora, representing snow. This set includes the main intro and the "summary" that ITV would always include at the end of their forecasts. Also, I have come to conclusion with this one that the lady at 0:02 IS NOT the lady at 0:09 opening her hands. The lady at 0:02 is at the first point on the sun at the end of the picture, working clockwise from north.
