Contact me https://www.davesimpsondrums.com and I'll be happy to email you a copy of the Workbook that accompanies this series of demonstrations. This is good for all beginner drummers not just Kids :) In this video I'm demonstrating how you can use 2 different patterns to make a 4-Bar Loop. Here I'm using 2 8th note grooves but don't worry if you're not sure what 8th notes are right now, just follow the pattern on the screen. If you have played along with and practiced any of my previous Basic Drum Grooves videos BASIC QUARTER GROOVES -    • Basic Workbook • Page 5   BASIC 8TH GROOVES -    • Basic Workbook • Page 9   you can now experiment with longer patterns by combining these Grooves together. It's a simple idea - take any 2 grooves that you know and play 3 bars of one and then 1 bar of the other. I'm using Patterns 6 and 1 from my Basic Workbook in this example. EXTRA!! If you can keep the loop going pretty well, try to add a crash on the 1st beat of every 4-bar loop. As always, try to stay relaxed and grip your sticks quite loosely so that they can bounce and play using your wrists not your arms.
