The STRANGEST Cup Series Race Ever

#fyp #nascar #nascarhighlights Due to safety concerns following two fatal accidents at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in the summer of 2000, NASCAR was in a predicament as the second race at the facility loomed around. With the fear of a drivers' strike, NASCAR hastily came up with a temporary solution to the issue, restrictor plates were mandated for the next race at the facility on September 17, which in turn created the strangest race in Cup Series history, the 2000 Dura Lube 300. The permanent solutions would soon follow in 2001 and 2002 with the HANS device and SAFER barrier.
