You'll be asked to estimate the value of a square root or cube root or fourth root, etc., of some whole number. Usually the whole number will be very close to another whole number that has an exact square or cube or fourth root. Because there's a number close to the one you're interested in that has an exact root, you can use the exact value to help you estimate the value of your root.
