(19 Dec 2019) U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin says Phase 1 of the U.S.-China trade deal will be signed in "early January." Speaking to reporters outside the White House, Mnuchin said the agreement has been translated and he doesn't expect any changes. Mnuchin touted the deal as a "tremendous opportunity for U.S. workers and companies," but he wouldn't say when the two sides would start working on Phase 2 of the agreement. The Treasury Secretary also said a trade deal with the U.K. is a "high priority." He said Britain is focusing right now on "resolving their Brexit issues," but underscored that a U.S.-U.K. trade deal is a "great priority."
