They often chase me and my toys. I am afraid of mice. THE STORY My name is Maria, but my parents often call me Clara, and I don't mind either name. One year, I received a special gift from my beloved Drosselmeyer – a Nutcracker. Nobody liked him, but I adored him. My grandpa Drosselmeyer's gifts always held a magical secret. I vividly recall the dreams that accompanied that Christmas Eve, a night that felt extraordinary. In my dream, I found myself surrounded by giant rats, creatures that have always frightened me. It was then that I realized my handsome and brave Nutcracker would come to my rescue. Standing proudly at the head of his valiant army, he confronted the dark forces. A formidable three-headed Rat-Queen launched an attack, their strength overwhelming. I, who had never been known for bravery, found courage inspired by my friend. Taking aim, I confronted the Rat-Queen, and with a swift action, she vanished. But was it too late? A stillness enveloped me, and the profound sadness of losing my friend settled in. Then, Darkness transformed into Light, and he woke up. We were reunited – my handsome, brave friend and I. Together, we ventured into a fantastical dreamland where joy and laughter awaited us! EPILOGUE Clara is asleep in bed. It will soon be morning. Her magical dream is over.
