IMD issues flood alert in North India amidst heavy rains - The News

The Indian Metrological Department today issued a flood alert for North India particularly for the states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Heavy rains battered many parts of North India and triggered flash floods and landslides in several regions. The MET department sent a letter to all divisional commissioners in the states notifying them that heavy rain is expected in the regions and that they must put the emergency response teams on alert.
