Chamakdaar (Lustrous): Metals usually chamakdaar hote hain, jaise sona (gold), chandi (silver), yaa taamba (copper). 2. Hard hote hain: Zyada metals hard hote hain (lekin sodium aur potassium jaise kuch metals soft bhi hote hain). 3. Malleable & Ductile: Metals ko hathode se peetne par woh patle sheets (patra) mein badal jaate hain (malleable) aur taar ban sakte hain (ductile). 4. Electricity aur heat ke achhe conductor hote hain: Jaise copper, aluminium – ye electricity aur garmi dono achhi tarah se conduct karte hain. 5. Sonorous hote hain: In par maarne par “tan-tan” wali awaaz aati hai. 6. High melting & boiling point: Metals ka galne (melting) aur ubalne (boiling) ka temperature generally high hota hai. 🔸 Non-Metals ko kaise pehchaane: 1. Chamak nahi hoti (Non-lustrous): Zyada tar non-metals dull hote hain (bas bromine aur iodine thode shiny lagte hain). 2. Generally soft hote hain: Jaise sulfur aur phosphorus – ye asaani se toot jaate hain. 3. Na malleable, na ductile: Inhe peetne par ye toot jaate hain – ye na patra ban sakte hain, na taar. 4. Poor conductors: Zyada non-metals electricity ya heat conduct nahi karte (except graphite). 5. Sonorous nahi hote: In par maarne se koi metallic sound nahi aata. 6. Low melting & boiling point: Inka melting/boiling point kaafi kam hota hai.
