Swimming by Mosquito Beach - Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

We pulled our kayaks up on the shallow rock shelf just before Mosquito Beach for a lunch break. Just when we sat down to eat we were attacked by stable flies and mosquitos. We quick ate our lunch and then went swimming off the edge of the rock shelf. Luckily the bugs didn't follow us out into the water.
