BHUJAPIDASANA 20 min Yoga Flow | KASEY NASH

Challenge Yourself with Bhujapidasana So what is bhujapidasana? Bhujapidasana also known as shoulder pressing pose is a challenging arm balance that requires a great deal of shoulder strength and flexibility. But it doesn't end there, since you will be hooking your upper legs up onto your upper arms while doing this you also need the same strength and flexibility in your core, hips, hamstrings and inner thighs too. In shoulder pressing pose your hands are in front of your body with your legs squeezing and wrapping around your upper arms while your feet are crossed. So 'shoulder pressing' with your thighs. OK, now how do I even get into it? I find the easiest way to get into bhujapidasana is to start in malasana squat. Then put your hands on the ground shoulder-width apart as far back under your bum as you can. From here you shift your weight into your hands and your feet will be lifted off the ground. Easy hey? But of course the best way to learn is to just practice so get into this class and give it a go! If you want some private yoga classes with me to get good at poses like this.
