Game of Thrones has a plot hole at the end of season 6

I am a Game of Thrones fan, and read all the A Song of Fire and Ice saga. Now, I know the television show is challenged to create the same effect on the screen as what is created in the books. Things have to be made differently, some scenes and characters have to be left out, characters and actions have to be changed. However, I am noticing a number of plot holes and odd narrative directions. At the end of season 6, Northmen are arguing in Winterfell over what is happening and how to proceed. Lyanna Mormont makes a declarative statement. Then lords start declaring Jon Snow as King of the North. Some problems with that. Jon was a sworn brother of the Night's Watch, and it's Lord Commander. He abandoned his post. Sure, his men mutinied and murdered him, so he served until his death, thus fulfilling his obligation. BUT, that means he was resurrected, so is essentially a zombie walking amongst the living. And there are stories of commanders of the Night's Watch being seduced by the dark magic powers from beyond The Wall and foul things created as a result. Third, Jon is associated with Melisandre, the Red Priestess, a messenger for the Fire God. The people of the North, many still follow the Old Gods, some the Seven. And, half of Stannis' army abandoned him after he burned his daughter, Shireen, alive at the stake. Fourth, Jon did bring the Wildlings south of The Wall, and the North is constantly harassed by Wildlings. Fifth, Jon screwed up his battle outside of Winterfell. They had a plan, and he abandoned it, and for some reason everyone else abandoned it. They were nearly annihilated. It was only because of a lucky, and out of nowhere, rescuing army from the Vale that they survived. Sixth, he never gave Wun-Wun-Ben-Ton a helmet or shield! He lost his giant! I just find it hard to see how and why the lords of the North would rally behind Jon to become king. And why didn't Jon proclaim Sansa as Queen?
