When you're at war, people will try to raid your villages as part of their efforts to attack you. More organised attacks will take place when the Marshall is on the warpath, heading up HUGE raids to take castles, raze villages or even overpower towns. Some people will take their own courses of actions, in retaliation for wrongs committed to them or to take back what is theirs. This is one of those times.
