The Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) reported that this output helped avoid 49 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions, highlighting nuclear power’s role in clean energy transition. Major progress was recorded across nuclear power expansion, research, cancer care, high-technology development, agriculture, and national security. Key achievements include the foundation stone of the Mahi Banswara Nuclear Power Project, commercial operations of Rawatbhata Unit-7, regulatory clearance for Kakrapar’s 700 MWe reactors, and approval for ten new PHWRs. DAE also strengthened India’s healthcare ecosystem through new cancer care facilities, advanced radiopharmaceuticals, and expanded sterilisation services. Breakthroughs were made in strategic technologies, including rare-earth certified reference materials, missile system components, enriched boron for semiconductors, and progress in India’s dark matter search experiment (InDEx). Agriculture saw new crop varieties and wider adoption of radiation-based processing. Indian students excelled in global Olympiads, while institutions like HBNI and Tata Memorial received top national and international recognition.
