It was on this day 20 years ago that Chris Hani was assassinated in the driveway of his home in Dawn Park, Boksburg, east of Johannesburg. He was the leader of the SA Communist Party and Chief of ANC military wing - Umkhonto Wesiswe. His death saw this country delicately teetering on the brink of full-scale civil war.
