Women Reservation Bill Passed In Lok Sabha | Opposition Demands Immediate Implementation

Lok Sabha passed Women Reservation Bill with 454 members voting in favour and 2 against it after spirited 8 hours of debate. A total of 60 members participated in the debate over the historic bill. This bill grants reservation to women on one-third seats in the Lok Sabha and the state assemblies. There were only two MPs, both from the AIMIM, who voted against the legislation. The Prime Minister thanked all the MPs who voted in the support of the legislation. He said that it will boost Women's empowerment.
