After a wet and stormy week, we continue to tap in to drier air as winds generally shift out of the west this afternoon. Humidity will continue with heat index values nearing the mid to upper 90s today. A mostly sunny start will lead to partly cloudy skies this afternoon, with a stray chance of a sea breeze shower. We remain mostly dry and those popcorn cumulus clouds will begin to dissipate this evening. Winds begin to shift out of the south ahead of a cold front tonight which will bring a bit more moisture across the region. Aside from being warm and muggy to start on Monday, we should remain mostly dry, but hot, with heat index values nearing 100°. The heat and humidity in the air will be a catalyst for some storms to develop as a cold front crosses the region late Monday evening (timing around or just before midnight). An upper level low in the Great Lakes will drag a cold front through and bring a line of storms that has the potential to bring isolated damaging wind, heavy rain, and moderate size hail.
