Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (English: Something Happens) also known as KKHH, is an Indian Hindi coming-of-age romantic comedy drama film, released in India and the United Kingdom on 16 October 1998. It was written and directed by Karan Johar, and starred the popular on-screen pair of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in their fourth film together. Rani Mukerji featured in a supporting role, while Salman Khan also had an extended-cameo appearance. Sana Saeed, who was featured in a supporting role, made her film debut in this movie. Cast[edit] Shah Rukh Khan as Rahul Khanna: A popular student at St. Xavier's college and Anjali Sharma's best friend. He falls in love with Tina Malhotra and marries her, after which they have a baby girl who is named Anjali. He hasn't realised his love for Anjali Sharma, until he meets her again. Kajol as Anjali Sharma: The fun loving tomboy in college and the best friend of Rahul. Over time, she becomes friends with Tina but also falls in love with Rahul. Once she realises that Tina and Rahul love each other, she is devastated and decides to leave the college. Rani Mukerji as Tina Malhotra: The principal's daughter, who is a transfer student from Oxford University. She is elegant and sophisticated and described as the most beautiful girl in college. She falls in love with Rahul and marries him, having a daughter with him, but has always felt guilty for coming between Anjali and Rahul. She passes away after giving birth, and her last wish is for Rahul to name their child Anjali. Sana Saeed as Anjali Khanna: Named after Anjali Sharma by Tina, she is Rahul and Tina's daughter. She is independent and fun loving and her character mirrors that of Anjali Sharma during college days. She plays matchmaker between her father and his old college best friend, Anjali. Salman Khan as Aman Mehra: Anjali Sharma's fiancé. Farida Jalal as Mrs. Khanna: Rahul's mother, a widow, who is in devotion towards god and irritates Almeida. Anupam Kher as Principal Malhotra: Tina's father. He is slightly infatuated with Ms. Briganza. Archana Puran Singh as Ms. Briganza: The college English teacher. She constantly flirts with Principal Malhotra. Reema Lagoo as Mrs. Sharma: She is Anjali Sharma's mother and has doubts about her daughter's motives for marrying Aman. Himani Shivpuri as Rifat Bi: St. Xavier's girl's hostel matron and motherly figure. Johnny Lever as Col. Almeida: The half-British manager of Camp Sunshine who is often irritated by Mrs. Khanna. Parzan Dastur as Silent Sardarji: A Sikh boy at Camp Sunshine who usually doesn't speak, but begs Anjali Sharma not to go when she decides to leave the summer camp. He likes Anjali Khanna. Neelam Kothari as Neelam in a special appearance: She is the host of The Neelam Show, the television programme which Anjali Khanna loves.
