Russia alleges Iran-based bombers strike militants in Syria

The Russian Defence Ministry said on Tuesday (August 16, 2016) that long-range Russian TU-22M3 bombers based in Iran struck a number of targets inside Syria. According to the ministry, the strikes were performed against Islamic State and Nusra Front targets in Aleppo, Idlib and Deir ez-Zor provinces. What are the top stories today?
