Shadow of the Tomb Raider PS4 | DLC#6 - The Grand Caiman

Shadow of the Tomb Raider PS4 | DLC#6 - The Grand Caiman Mission - The Wrathful God Tomb - Zipacna's Craving This is the sixth and penultimate complete DLC which was originally released on 29th March 2019. As with all the DLC content it comprises a mission and a tomb. Lara Croft reunites with Jonah at the Mission of San Juan. The story appears to be set during the main game timeline following the landslide, and before meeting up in Paititi for Etzli's ceremony. Jonah tells her that some Trinity soldiers have been stranded in San Juan and set up a base camp there, in ruins which were built for priests of Zipacna, the god of mountains...and volcanoes. Many people still visited ruins before the soldiers took over them paying homage to Zipacna. The tremors and ash from the landslide have not stopped, which Abigaile Ortiz thinks it has something to do with it. Lara agrees to her request to see what is happening at the ruins and make it right. Lara find a Crab Relic amongst the Trinity supplies, and decides to take the artifact back where it belongs; she believes this act will resolve the tremors. It turns out that the Trinity soliders are not stranded afterall, the whole incident was set up as an ambush set up to take down Lara. Naturally Lara thwarts their plans, killing the Trinity soldiers. She returns the Crab relic to where it belongs, seated in the ancient machine there. Whatever truly was the cause, indeed the tremors and ash do stop. Lara returns to Jonah and Abby to let them know what had happened. She parts from Jonah with a wry smile at Jonah and his happiness, he and Abby clearly very friendly and cosy with each other. ------------------- Originally released roughly monthly to Season Pass purchasers of the game, all of the DLCs and other bonus content later become incorporated within the game as the Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, released on November 5th 2019. While I originally played each DLC at the time of its release, this play through is based upon the Definitive Edition update (having previously purchased the Season Pass). As such the order of gameplay was a bit less structured, hence some of the DLCs were not played in the originally intended order. However I have chosen to present the DLCs in release order as originally intended. As such you may notice my game and area completion (on the map screens) is a bit inconsistent at times, for this reason. ----------------- Shadow of the Tomb Raider is a 2018 action-adventure video game developed by Eidos-Montréal and published by Square Enix's European subsidiary. It continues the narrative from the 2015 game Rise of the Tomb Raider and is the twelfth mainline entry in the Tomb Raider series, as well as the final entry of the rebooted trilogy. The game was originally released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Versions for macOS and Linux, and Stadia, were released in November 2019. After release, the game was expanded upon with downloadable content in both a season pass and as standalone releases. Set shortly after the events of Rise of the Tomb Raider, its story follows Lara Croft as she ventures through the tropical regions of the Americas to the legendary city Paititi, battling the paramilitary organization Trinity and racing to stop a Mayan apocalypse she has unleashed. Lara must traverse the environment and combat enemies with firearms and stealth as she explores semi-open hubs. In these hubs she can raid challenge tombs to unlock new rewards, complete side missions, and scavenge for resources which can be used to craft useful materials. Development began in 2015 following the completion of Rise of the Tomb Raider, lasting until July 2018. Shadow of the Tomb Raider was designed to conclude Lara's journey begun in the 2013 reboot, with a key theme being descent both through the jungle environment and into her personality. The setting and narrative was based on Mayan and Aztec mythologies, with the team consulting historians to create the architecture and people of Paititi. The gameplay was adjusted based on both fan feedback and the wishes of Eidos Montréal, incorporating swimming and grappling while increasing difficulty tailoring. Camilla Luddington returned to provide voice and motion-capture work for Lara. Released as the final installment in Lara Croft's origin trilogy, Shadow of the Tomb Raider received generally positive reviews from critics, with particular praise going to the game's emphasis on challenge tombs and puzzles, although some felt that the series' gameplay had become stale and lacked innovation. While opening to slow sales, the game eventually shipped over four million copies worldwide. From Wikipedia, to read more go to: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shadow_...
