Obsidian Throne & Devotion Shrines - #18 Inquisitor - Let's Play Grim Dawn: Ashes of Malmouth

Series playlist:    • Grim Dawn - Inquisitor (v1.0.2.1+)   Grim Dawn: Ashes of Malmouth is the first expansion for Grim Dawn, and it adds two new classes: the Necromancer and the Inquisitor. In this series we'll play an Inquisitor through the expanded storyline, and see what this dual gun wielding class has to offer. Build outline We dual wield guns, shoot everything that moves, and stay mobile. Our focus will be on fire and lightning damage, and we have a built-in sustain via Word of Renewal. I'm imagining this to play like a ranged Nightblade, but in practice it might be very different. Aura of Conviction and Deadly Aim hopefully allow us to do a decent amount of critical hits and have an aggressive focus. Variations of the Inquisitor could focus on using spells instead of guns. Word of Pain and Flames of Ignaffar seem like a good combination. For sustaining yourself, the Inquisitor Seal could be an alternative/addition to Word of Renewal, but seems more useful for melee builds or a channeling build with Flames of Ignaffar. Aura of Censure would combine well with that. Skill tree and Devotions: http://www.grimtools.com/calc/DV95YpPV For gear, we grab dual pistols and after that we get the usual resists, armour, health, damage. Maybe getting more movement speed than usual will be useful. Second class We'll go with Demolitionist, for it complements our Inquistor with its gun focus and fire/lightning damage. Blast Shield will give us a good defensive skill for later in the game. Inquisitor: ranged expertise: 10/10, fire rounds: max, cold rounds: 8/10, lightning rounds: 7/10 word of renewal: max, vigor: max, steel resolve: 10/10 horn: 12/12 or max (it is nice) rune of hagarrad: 1/16, biting cold 12/12, chillsurge: 12/12 storm box: 16/16, tether: 12/12 deadly aim: 12/12 rune of kalastor: 1/12, ignition: 1/10 Aura of Conviction: max inquisitor seal: 1/12, null field: 1/1, arcane empowerment: 1/12 artifact handling: 1/10 Demolitionist: 1pt: Fire Strike, Explosive Strike, Static Strike, Flame Touched, Temper, Vindictive Flame, Ulzuin's Wrath max: Blast Shield Devotion Tree Ultos, Shepherd of the Storm is the endgame constellation to go for. Early on, I suspect we will benefit a lot from defensive constellations to counterbalance our mostly offensive skill tree. This will be the order I spend and unspend points: White Turtle White Green Scholar's Light Green Red Vulture Red Blue = 4 Blue, 2 White, 4 Green, 5 Red Behemoth Quill Viper White Harvestman's Scythe = 10 Blue, 3 White, 10 Green, 9 Red, 6 Purple Ultos, Shepherd of the Storm After this, there are a few constellations to consider, depending on what you need: Alladrah's Phoenix (damage absorption + AoE damage) Amatok, Spirit of Winter (cold damage, AoE proc) Bard's Harp (pierce dmg, elemental dmg, energy regen) Crab (damage shield proc, elemental damage) Dryad (heals you) Murmur (cold resistance reduction, 4 points gets you the proc) Rhowan's Crown (elemental damage + AoE proc) Tsunami (cold/lightning AoE attack) About Grim Dawn Grim Dawn is an Action RPG set in a world where the zombie apocalypse happened, where humanity is scattered and under attack from all sides. Technology seems on par with fantasy victorian times: there are guns, but there is also a lot of magic. Game website: http://grimdawn.com/ Steam store page: http://store.steampowered.com/app/219... I record Let's Play video game series about Action RPGs and strategy games. I love simulation and programming games as well, though they play a smaller part on my channel. I'm an analytical player, so my playthrough will be filled with English commentary analyzing the game, comparing and contrasting it with others, and trying to understand the mechanics behind the game.
