#e31 #850csi #840ci The e31 8 series was introduced in 1989, and was supposed to replace the 6 series which had been in production from 1976 until 1989. The only model available at that time was an #850i, with a 12 cylinder engine providing 300HP, and was at least 50% more expensive then the 6 series. So why did BMW make the 8 series? #Mercedes came on the market with the #500SL, and #BMW had to have a competitor. Problem with this was that it wasn't in BMW's lane; BMW buyers couldn't afford it, nor the fuel cost, and went for the 5 series instead. This 2 door coupé had a top speed of 250km/h, and was replaced by the #850Ci in 1993. At the same time the 840Ci and the 850CSi were introduced. The 840ci received an 8 cylinder engine with 286HP. The 850CSi was more changed then just 380bhp & external mirrors & bumpers. It had a new enlarged 5.7ltr engine up from the 5.0ltr of the 850Ci. This gave an extra 80bhp increase to 380bhp over the standard 850Ci’s 300bhp. The engine was bored out to 5.7ltr, and had M specific internals including different valves, CSi specific camshafts, lighter pistons and crankshaft. The suspension was switched by using new dampers and stiffer springs making the car sit lower by 15mm. The suspension bushes were uograded too as was the anti roll bar. The m-tech wing mirrors along with front and rear lower diffusers provided more downforce and made the car more planted onto the road surface. The CSi was also given an engine oil cooler as well as a LSD diff + diff cooler. AHK was standard on all CSI’s. Just 1510 850CSi’s weee ever produced. The 225 US spec 850CSi’x however, did not receive AHK nor the diff or engine oil cooler. The US spec CSi’s also did not get the M-tech mirrors nor the upgraded CSi spec 13.5” floating design front brakes. Unfortunately the production ended in 1996 for the 850CSi ⛔ E31 850CSI FOR SALE ⬇️⬇️ https://bit.ly/3nME5Ow ⛔ Stay tuned ⬇️⬇️ https://bit.ly/3rCw1B4 ⛔ More interesting cars ⬇️⬇️ https://bit.ly/3nME5Ow
