It follows the story of Jin Sakai, a samurai warrior on the island of Tsushima during the Mongol invasion of Japan in the 13th century. After his uncle, Lord Shimura, is captured by the Mongols, Jin adopts unconventional tactics and becomes the "Ghost," using stealth and deception to fight back. Along the way, he forms alliances with other warriors, navigates moral dilemmas, and ultimately liberates Tsushima. The game explores themes of honor, sacrifice, and the blurred lines between tradition and necessity. The Iki Island is an expansion of Ghost of Tsushima which adds a new chapter to the game's story. It based on Jin Sakai’s past story exploring his relationship with his deceased father and the traumas of his past. The main antagonist in the Iki Island expansion, known as “THE EAGLE”, is a fictional character. She is a shaman and leader of a Mongol tribe, adding a mystical and psychological element to the story.
