1 dies in Grand Rapids house fire

Grand Rapids police confirm one person is dead and another is in critical condition following a house fire in Grand Rapids early Monday morning. It happened around 6 a.m. at home located 947 Jennette Avenue NW. The Grand Rapids Fire Deputy Chief Ron Tennant said the home was occupied by two people: a man and a woman. The woman, believed 40 or 41 years of age, died in the fire and the man was taken to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in critical condition, according to Sgt. John Wittkowski with Grand Rapids Police. He said investigators do believe the two were married.
