India successfully launches its first solar mission

달 남극 착륙한 인도, 태양 관측 위성도 발사 Moving on to India, where the country successfully launched a rocket to begin the country's first solar mission. Blasting off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre on Saturday a satellite called Aditya-L1, was successfully put into orbit. The spacecraft aims to study solar winds, capable of causing disturbances on Earth, such as auroras. It will travel approximately 1 percent of the distance between the Sun and the Earth on its four-month, 1-point-5 million-kilometer journey. Aditya is the Hindu name for the god of the Sun, while L1 refers to a spot between the Sun and Earth where the satellite will eventually stop.
