Former Cricketer Shoaib Akhtar wants India-Pakistan final in ICC World Cup 2023

India is all set to host ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in October-November. However, suspense over the participation of its neighbour Pakistan still continues. Pak govt has not given nod to PCB for team’s participation in the 2023 ODI World Cup yet. Recently, Pakistani legend Shoaib Akhtar was featured in a podcast hosted by Nadir Shah. He opened up on Pakistan’s participation in World Cup 2023. He said that he wants Pakistan to participate in 50-over trophy and compete against India. He also said that the participation mainly depends on the Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan. Also, ACC likely to approve PCB's hybrid model for the Asia Cup 2023. As per ESPNcricinfo, Sri Lanka can be considered as the neutral venue where India's matches can be held. In the proposed model, Pakistan will host all the matches of the tournament except India’s matches.
