Written by George Fischoff and Carole Bayer. Arranged by Joe Renzetti and produced by Jerry Ross. From the album, “98.6/Ain't Gonna Lie”. Hailing from Philadelphia, Keith (real name: James Barry Keefer) first charted with “Ain’t Gonna Lie” in 1966 and followed through with “98.6”, which reached #7 on the Hot-100. Both songs were co-written by George Fischoff with one time Ellie Greenwich collaborator, Tony Powers. The “98.6/Ain't Gonna Lie” album reached #124 on the Billboard album chart. Co-writer Carole Bayer was also known as Carole Bayer-Sager. She wrote “Groovy Kind Of Love” (with Toni Wine), a #2 US hit for the Mindbenders in 1966. She went on to marry Burt Bacharach in 1982.
