Here’s a look at each: Oxygen sensor When this component fails, you’ll get the following symptoms: • The check engine light turns on. • Reduced engine performance. • Poor fuel efficiency. • Black emissions with a strong fuel smell. To fix this, Diagnose the problem using an OBD2 scanner. Here’s how: • Locate the OBD2 scanner in your Acura MDX. Most Acuras have it under the driver’s side dashboard. Please consult your manual if you cannot find it. • Connect your OBD2 scanner and turn on the ignition without starting the engine. • Read the codes from your scanner. The oxygen sensor code P0130 indicates a defective oxygen sensor circuit.
