Well of course, People who are religious, look for strength in the remembrance of god. It can always be placebo, but what about the people who don't believe in god? The researchers based their study on what is called the strength model of self-control. This model suggests that our mental resources, just like our physical resources, are limited. It is tempting to see prayer as a futile exercise, a wishful technique, something that is not practical.
