Hi There! I'm Tammy Salamone and this is number 10 in my new set of videos called, Breast Cancer Advice From A Patient. Herceptin is really a game changer for Her2 positive breast cancer but it comes with the slight risk of heart problems. That is why an Echocardiogram is necessary throughout the year of treatment. In this video I will describe more about both of these topics. #breastcancer, #herceptin #echocardiograms I learned a lot going through my treatments and surgeries and it's information that I feel needs to be shared and will be helpful. I was diagnosed in early 2017 and had a double mastectomy in May that same year followed by 12 weeks of chemo (taxol) and a year of Herceptin. It was one of the worst times of my life. I never thought I would come out of the depression I was experiencing and certainly didn't think I would be helping others afterwards.
