Nature Based Solutions: Against Climate Change and Biodiversity Loss

What are Nature Based Solutions? What benefits do they bring society? How do they support us and our #environment? The European Commission defines them as such: “Nature Based Solutions (NbS) are solutions that are inspired and supported by nature, which are cost effective, simultaneously provide environmental, social and economic benefits and help build resilience. Such solutions bring more, and more diverse, nature and natural features and processes into cities, landscapes and seascapes, through locally adapted, #resource-efficient and systemic interventions.” By bringing full-fledged solutions inspired and supported by nature, NbS are essential to face #biodiversity loss and can bring a wealth of benefits to our society – including the creation of new green jobs for future generations. The solutions to achieve such a transformative change are all around us – in nature.
