Relaxing Bicycle Ride Through the Cycling City of Houten (Netherlands)

Houten is the cycling city par excellence. The city's unique traffic concept, which was developed back in the 1970s, allows cyclists to ride on excellently developed cycle paths and cycle roads through the entire city without a lot of traffic noise or fumes. Cars can only enter individual parts of the city via the two ring roads around the city. Most people therefore use the environmentally friendly bicycle or the fast train connections to Utrecht and 's Hertogenbosch. For us, Houten is the city that should pave the way for future transport concepts around the world, as quality of life is a top priority here. Houten ist die Fahrradstadt schlechthin. Das einzigartige Verkehrskonzept der Stadt, dass bereits in der 70er Jahren entwickelt wurde, erlaubt es den Radfahrern auf exzellent ausgebauten Radwegen und Fahrradstraßen durch die gesamte Stadt ohne großen Verkehrslärm oder Abgsase zu fahren. Autos können über die beiden Ringstraßen um die Stadt herum nur in einzelne Stadtteile einfahren. Die meisten Menschen nutzen deswegen das umweltfreundliche Fahrrad oder die schnellen Zugverbindungen nach Utrecht und 's Hertogenbosch. Houten ist für uns die Stadt, die wegweisend für zukünftige Verkehrskonzepte auf der ganzen Welt sein sollten, da hier Lebensqualität groß geschrieben wird.
