What Bret Hart REALLY Thinks about the McMahon Family

Speaker 2: I think that someday you'll see Vince McMahon's brain and a big glass jar with a bunch of wires coming out, and he'll still be calling the shots. I don't believe he'll ever- Speaker 1: Like in Futurama. Speaker 2: He'll be like Mr. Burns. He will have control for eternity. I do think that Vince McMahon, I think is probably irreplaceable. The best thing that he has always had going for him is that he is the biggest wrestling fan in the world. He loves to watch wrestling, sit down and watch a great match. And although he caters sometimes to the bodybuilders and the Hulk Hogan type wrestlers, he loves wrestling too. He loves it all. He loves the whole circus of everything. And that's really the key to the industry, I think, is by being fresh and always being able to add on where you need to and keep it balanced all the time, because a lot of people love wrestling for a lot of different reasons. You may love the girl wrestling. If you look at where the girl wrestling is today compared to where it was say, 25 years ago, it's come so far and they're so skilled and so much prettier today than what I was subjected to as a kid. But even the midget wrestling, there's so many things, there's a little bit of all of that all the time, and I think wrestling was real. The last two guys standing in a Royal Rumble would be Mark Henry and Big Show, and all the Daniel Bryans and CM Punks couldn't even get their legs off the ground to throw them out of a Royal Rumble. And I think sometimes they forget what wrestling really is. It was a big man industry, and I think they forget, these writers and these guys that think they know so much about wrestling, including what does Stephanie McMahon know about wrestling? I don't know. I never saw her in the dressing room. I never saw her on the road. I never saw her or understood ... I don't believe that she fully understands pro wrestling the way Shane does. And there's got to be a constant effort to always remember and give back to the way it was. And always remember how wrestling ... There's a history there and should always respect that history. And I think Vince does. Speaker 1: You beat cancer. You've recovered from the stroke. How are you health-wise? I mean, you look fantastic and you did have that workout earlier. Speaker 2: I'm a beat up old train, but I'm on the tracks. I mean, I think I've had some battles in my lifetime being the stroke, being, I think, still always will be the most serious one I had. And I came out of that pretty well. I got about somewhere between 80 to 90% recovery back. And the cancer battle I had this last few months has been, as all fights with cancer can be as, some of them are much more serious than others. But mine was a cancer that was winnable and I was very early in my finding out that I had it. So, I was on top of it right from the start. And I think I feel pretty confident saying that I think I've won that fight too. Speaker 1: You talk about your fight and your battles. I remember reading your book and you described yourself as a survivor in pro wrestling, and it's kind of like a dark concept because life after wrestling can be tough. It's a tough road for a lot of people. Chyna, most recently we saw that example. I know a Sunny was a very big star in your era as well. She seems to be going down kind of a dangerous path as well that's concerning. Have you kept in contact with people like Sunny and other people in your generation? Speaker 2: I stay in touch with a lot of the wrestlers. A lot of times it's hard. I'll give you an example. Undertaker was one of my closest friends in the wrestling business, but it's just so hard to ... When he's either on the road or when he finally does get off the road and he's home, the last thing he really has the time for is to sit on the phone and talk to an old wrestler friend of his. wwe, bret hart, bret hart interview, bret hart shoot interview, bret hart vince mcmahon, vince mcmahon, vince mcmahon documentary, stephanie mcmahon bret hart, bret hart shane mcmahon, bret the hitman hart, bret hart shawn michaels, bret hart shoot promo, bret hart mcmahons, vince mcmahon family, mcmahon family, bret hart screw job, shane mcmahon, stephanie mcmahon, wwe news, wwe news and rumors, wwe raw headlines, wwe hart dynasty, wwe hall of fame, bret hart bobby heenan
