Oxford Utd v Middlesbrough 1989-90

Boro fans could be forgiven if they thought their team had half an eye on Wembley with dire league performances like this being served up. A trip to The Manor Ground to face Oxford Utd yielded another timid defeat for Middlesbrough. Look out for soon to be Boro left back Jimmy Phillips having a hand in Oxfords third goal and Robbie Mustoe running around a lot. Best of all though, Oxfords number 8 is none other than Steve Mclaren!
