WO: SBC Removes Saddleback

The executive committee of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), the largest Protestant denomination in North America, has voted to remove California's Saddleback Church from the denomination. Saddleback Church chose to ordain women as pastors last year. The SBC follows a biblical pattern of leadership in which men and women are complementary, and have different creation order roles. Only spiritually qualified males are called to lead a congregation.
