Leah Sharibu: Face of Persecution in Nigeria

Leah Sharibu: Face of Persecution in Nigeria

Leah Sharibu has garnered friends and voices who have been steady and strong in advocating for her release. Listen to her friends share her story: Tony Perkins (FRC/USCIRF), Benjamin Watson (NFL), Pas Sola Irukwu (Jesus House UK), John Stonestreet (Colson Center), Lord David Alton (House of Lords),. Leah was one of 110 girls kidnapped from their school in Dapchi, Nigeria by ISWAP/Boko Haram on the late evening of February 19th, 2018. The world was in shock and dismay as the government attempted to negotiate her freedom. Leah Sharibu refused to deny her Christian faith and she remains captive to her abductors. She was the only one that was not released because she refused to convert to Islam in exchange for her freedom. The conditions that led to her captivity has left many children and adults facing the same circumstances in Nigeria. As we mark her fourth year in captivity, we will bring you more information about her story and the situation in Nigeria with some friends on Feb 19th online.
