Humboldt County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday that a father has died in California's raging floodwaters. He drowned in the five-feet-deep waters as he was trying to rescue his three kids who were trapped inside their Ferndale family home on Wednesday night. He has not been identified as deputies notify his next-of-kin. Northern California has been inundated with heavy rains leading the Russian River to break through its banks. The swollen river crested at 45.3 feet late Wednesday - 15 feet above flood stage. Officials say that the water will recede back to its banks by Thursday evening. Still the floodwaters have devastated Northern California, turning the towns of Guerneville and Monte Rio into islands. Original Article: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/artic...
