In the cast, in a small uncredited role, is a young actress named Ann Sheridan. By the mid-1940s she would be one of Warner Bros.'s biggest stars. In 1934 she had one scene. Cinematographer William C. Mellor shot this film; he would later win Academy Awards for A Place in the Sun and The Diary of Anne Frank. Zane Grey's Oregon Trail story had already been filmed in 1923 (The Covered Wagon) and 1931 (Fighting Caravans).
