First UK Tandem BASE jumps

The first ever Tandem BASE jumps in the UK took place in August 2022. Mountain Man BASE team brought this project to fruition after two years of planning, including scoping out viable jump sites and sourcing specially designed kit to make it happen. There are not many places you can do tandem BASE in the world so this is a special achievement. Mountain Man BASE opted to launch the first 'live' jumps at Beer Head in Devon (after previous test jumps using weighted bags). This is also a site with significant heritage as it was the first 'Earth' (cliff) jump site in the UK, identified and jumped by Andy Guest and his associates back in 1982. It is fitting that in the 40th anniversary year another first would be accomplished with the tandem project.
