The levels culminate in a tense confrontation with Chloe and Flynn. Set two years after Drake's Fortune, the story begins in medias res with a severely wounded Nathan Drake clinging to a derailed train car hanging off a cliff in the Himalayas. The narrative then unfolds through flashbacks, revealing Drake's journey to this point. A new partner and an old enemy: Drake is lured back into the world of treasure hunting by his old associate Harry Flynn and his partner, Chloe Frazer. Their target is a Mongolian oil lamp connected to explorer Marco Polo's lost fleet. However, Flynn double-crosses Drake, leaving him to be arrested. The Cintamani Stone: After being broken out of prison by Chloe, Drake learns that Flynn is now working for Zoran Lazarević, a ruthless Serbian war criminal. Lazarević is seeking the mythical Cintamani Stone from the legendary valley of Shambhala, and Drake must now race against him to find it first. A familiar face: Along the way, Drake runs into his ex-girlfriend, Elena Fisher, who is also tracking Lazarević, and together they are drawn into the increasingly dangerous quest. A race through exotic locales: Drake's journey takes him and his companions to exotic and diverse locations, including the jungles of Borneo, a war-torn city in Nepal, and the icy, snowy mountains of the Himalayas.
