Loving Our Community | Faith Methodist Church
A true Christian is one who loves God and keeps his commands. And His command is for us to love our communities. ❤️ We all have communities 👨👩👧👦 that we can love beyond the church like our families, our schools and our workplaces. And what does loving them entail? We can start with helping them. Simple acts of kindness have a way of sowing lifelong relationships. The most important way to help someone is helping them find Christ. In this busy, goal-oriented world, it’s easy to feel useless and therefore unloved. There are people in your community right now who need to see that God loves them and you can help them by sharing the Gospel. Gently guide them to the foot of the cross and keep supporting them even after they’re saved. Let them see the love of God flow out from you. Of course, God never said that loving people would be a walk in the park. Oftentimes, it feels like a 20K in the Sahara. I know how easy it is for me to make up excuses for not doing something kind or sharing the Gospel. But we can’t wait for opportunities to fall into our laps. People out there need our help right now, and it’s our job to find them. It’ll be hard. Sometimes, it’ll be thankless. 😞 But at the end of the day, we must remember how much Jesus sacrificed to love us.
