Implementation of an end to end dynamic slicing algorithm for RAN sharing in an OAI mobile network

In this video, we are showing the flexibility presented by deploying our novel dynamic slicing algorithm in RAN sharing prototype using OpenAirInterface emulation platform, with the benefit of FlexRAN controller. We attached 2 commercial UEs to 2 different operators through 2 slices, as follows: White phone is attached to slice 92 (red part and lines) Black phone is attached to slice 0 (blue part and lines) The demonstration reveals that during the experiment, slice0 which occupied 10% (5/50 PRB), started to borrow from slice 92 which had 60% of the whole bandwidth (30/50 PRBs). The RAN sharing prototype consistes of: 2 OAI EPCs represent 2 operators. 1 OAI eNb represents the data plane of the base station in 5G network. FlexRAN controller on the top of eNB which represents the control plane. A slicing app developped on the top of the flexRAN, responsible on taking the slice decisions. 2 UEs attached to 2 operators through 2 slices. For more info: [email protected]
