Call forwarding is a feature that redirects incoming calls from your number to another phone number. It is commonly used for convenience — but scammers are misusing it for fraud. 🚨 How the Scam Works: 1️⃣ Fraudsters call victims pretending to be customer care or officials. 2️⃣ They trick users into dialing a special code (like 401 followed by a number). 3️⃣ This activates call forwarding on the victim’s phone. 4️⃣ When WhatsApp sends a verification call/OTP, it gets forwarded to the scammer. 5️⃣ The hacker then logs into the victim’s WhatsApp account.
