So, I'm sure you'll agree that "The Embassy" mission from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019 was absolutely inspired by the events that took place in Benghazi... That was on September 11, 2012, when a group of Islamist militants, celebrating the eleventh anniversary of the worst terrorist attack in American history in 2001, launched an armed attack on the American Embassy in Benghazi, Libya's second largest city. The embassy staff, trying in vain to get help from U.S. authorities, turned in pleas of desperation to a unit of peacekeepers whose duties included patrolling and policing the city's streets. Having no authority to intervene in such conflicts, the soldiers had no choice but to wait for a direct order from their immediate command, but the leadership, reasoning that such operations should be handled by special forces, refused to give permission to conduct an operation to rescue American citizens. At this crucial moment, when dozens of human lives were at stake, six brave soldiers, acting as their conscience dictated, contrary to the chain of command, entered into a brutal, uncompromising battle with Islamists far outnumbering them, clearly realizing that this battle could be their last...
