My Mother is a Hospice Nurse. I grew up going along with her to patient's houses, hospital rooms & nursing homes; to sing songs for terminally ill patients in Oklahoma & Tennessee. This song is about what I witnessed through the innocent eyes of a child. ...It has never been recorded in it's entirety until tonight. I dedicate it to all of the unsung heroes in this world and the next; people like my Mother; that for hundreds of people, was the last hand they ever held; her eyes, the last eyes they ever looked into; her voice, the last voice they ever heard spoken; my Mother's ears, the last to hear their wishes, their descriptions of the other dimensions & beings all around us, the last to hear their prayers... I dedicate it to those good Hospice folks, and all of the family's ever blessed by the work that Hospice does. Thank You Mama. From a Studio Apartment Somewhere in Hollywood... I Love You.
