On "EWTN News Nightly" tonight: The US could default on its debt in only one week, unless President Joe Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy can strike a deal. Both Republicans and Democrats continue to blame each other for the potential economic crisis. President Biden also introduced the Air Force general he wants to become the next Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. And a new report says Ukraine is close to running out of money amid the war with Russia, and neighboring Poland is asking countries to give more aid. Poland's Consul General in New York, Adrian Kubicki, joins to share why Poland is pushing so hard to find additional funding for Ukraine. Meanwhile, Cardinal Sean O'Malley, appointed a leader in the Vatican's efforts to fight clergy abuse, is among those named in a new lawsuit in Boston. And the Vatican has released the theme for the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation in September. The theme is "let justice and peace flow." Executive Director of the Laudato Si Movement, Tomas Insua, joins to tell us some of the highlights from the news conference today. Finally this evening, when the Benedictine Sisters of Mary, Queen of Apostles, exhumed the body of their foundress earlier this month, they discovered the unexpected.
