Queen Anne’s Lace Demo | Tutorial for Beginners | Easy Watercolor Flowers

Let’s paint some Queen Anne’s Lace! I start by mixing up some gray. You can absolutely use a gray watercolor paint (Davy’s gray is a great soft gray) but I like mixing my own. That way I have more control over how warm or cool it is and when the paint dries, the colors seperate a little creating more visual interest. Next I paint lots of little dots in a dome shape. I turn my brush often and change the amount of pressure I’m putting on the tip of my brush. That way the dots will vary in shape and size. The last step is the stem and the leaves. Queen Anne’s Lace has very wild leaves so keep your hold on your brush loose and vary the direction of each leaf. Materials used… Paper- Legion Stonehenge Aqua hotpress watercolor paper Brush- Princeton brush Neptune series round brush size 8 Paint- Permanent red deep (Daniel Smith), cadmium yellow medium (Grumbacher), Indanthrone blue (Daniel Smith), and hooker’s green deep (Grumbacher)
