Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami has expressed support for President Buhari’s decision to withhold assent to the electoral amendment bill. He says mandatory direct parties for political parties have high-cost implications and are discriminatory and that signing it into law will lead to many court cases. President Buhari had in a letter to the National Assembly, pointed out the high cost of conducting direct primaries among other reasons he withheld his assent to the Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill 2021. The president had said, it would be better to allow each political party to determine its mode of selecting candidates for election. #TVCNews #NewsUpdate #directandindirectprimaries #electoralact #electoralactamendmentbill #latestnews #onlinenews #todaynews #9janews Join this channel to get access to Exclusive Trending News Content: / @tvcnewsnigeria Don't forget to subscribe: https://bit.ly/35V0PCJ Watch more interesting videos: https://bit.ly/3xOHq2f Follow TVC News On: Twitter: / tvcnewsng Instagram: / tvcnewsng Facebook: / tvcnewsng Get more news on our website: http://www.tvcnews.tv/ Download the mobile app Android: https://bit.ly/3wYz33U iPhone: Go to apple store
