It came down to the wire, but Pitt earned its 7th ACC win of the season with an 81-79 home victory over Wake Forest. It was absolutely raining threes at the Pete, with the team hitting a program-record 18 treys on 37 tries. Blake Hinson tied the individual program record with 8 threes. That 8-14 performance made him the game’s top scorer with 24 points. Greg Elliott added 18 points in the win. For the Deacs, Tyree Appleby and Cam Hildreth each had 15 points, with Appleby adding 7 assists and 4 rebounds. Hildreth grabbed 7 boards of his own.
