Mark 12:18-27 Brother's New Wife
In our text today, we have the Sadducees confronting Jesus. They ask Jesus a question that most of us find odd and a little confusing. It has to do with duties surrounding marriage. In the ancient world, if a husband dies before his wife can conceive a son, the husband's brother has the duty to marry the widow and give her a son. Jesus clarifies their conundrum and leaves us in awe of his authority.
