The name says that Chocolate Rock is like one giant slab of rich chocolate. Its smooth, dark-brown surface contrasts amazingly against the surrounding rocky terrains and green valleys. Though it is not made up of chocolate, due to its colour and texture, it could seem to be nature’s chocolate bar. It originates from ancient volcanic activity whereby the molten lava, on being cooled down, solidified into a smooth, dark surface. From that time onwards, this rock underwent further sculpting by erosion and weathering, which imparted a distinctiveness to its appearance and sent everybody’s imagination running. Location Chocolate Rock is located in the mountains of Skardu City, renowned for its wonderful landscapes, culture, and location near some of the world’s highest peaks. It is not that far from other famous attractions like Katpana Desert and Sheosar Lake, so it is easy to include it in your places to go.
